I have Jehovas witness' come by my house sometimes and even some Mormons come around doing thier mission work. I have never been the type to be rude to folks that are just trying to spread peace through the word of thier god but yesterday I found something that quite frankly I feel is wrong. In my driveway was a page out of one of the guys record book. Notes taken on whhere they live, if they have kids, thier skin color and even thier mood. Is this something missionaries are supposed to do? Whatever the reason I think it is rude and my wife is a little upset about it as well. Only the government is supposed to spy on us.

Anyway, What do you guys think? I'm sure its innocent enough but I still think its rude and down right weird.

Not my address but I'm sure they have mine. It probably states I am in a hurry too.

Maybe they keep records to show their supervisors that they actually tried to chat with people instead of just riding around all day, or for those cases when somebody says they're busy and to come back later, they'll be able to remember it easier. OTOH, look where the worksheet was printed. It could indeed be part of some vast conspiracy masterminded by our neighbors to the north!

Can't imagine what type of records they have on my FIL. Every time he sees them coming through the neighborhood he takes his shirt off, grabs a beer even if it's 10 a.m. on a Sunday, and starts running around the yard like a madman while spewing profanities at the dog.

Creapy is a good word. We are not scared or even mad about it but just curious about the note. Did it matter that she was in a hurry or that the kid was "(Blk)"? We Catholics have our issues but I really respect peoples privacy.

Roll Me Over

>>>*Back when I was in my 20's I was working in a paper mill, graveyard shift. This meant I needed to sleep daytimes.

About once every couple of weeks some ladies with the Jehovah's Witness program would knock on my door. I never really minded too much if I was up but waking me up was a bit much.

I posted a sign, "DAY Sleeper" on my gate. Made no difference, they woke me up anyway.

So one day I answered the door in nothing but my white cottons, stood there smiling while holding a broadhead arrow which I was sharpening with a file.

Oddly, they never came back.... ...*EB

Put on the hockey mask and fire up the chainsaw in the kitchen! works every time & they NEVER EVER come back.

I grew up in a vast open area populated by loggers and fishermen. Strangers knocking on your front door was not acceptable. You might get mauled by thier dogs, shot by the owners or worse. You just don't invade peoples private property, period.

Bieng religious if fine by me. It's a great social outlet and gives people something to pray at, or for, or whatever.
All I ask is keep it OFF MY FRONT PORCH...

Anytime I hear someone walking up the front steps I stop them dead in thier tracks, escort them off our property and make it crystal clear they are not allowed to return for any reason, ever.

I think Mormans and JW's are in error because they believe that only their particular groups can go to heaven. I totally disagree with their doctrine, but I realize that most of them go door to door because they are concerned for the eternity of others. They deserve a respectful, "No thank you. I appreciate your concern for me and I know it's not easy what you're doing, but please don't come back." I do share my faith, but it is through relationships and kindness to others. People who do not share my beliefs are my friends regardless if they never want to hear about my faith. They are not projects or forms to be filled out.

Just remember if you sign up with the Mormons they want 10% of your income and they want to see tax returns IMO overall they are decent people in a cult sort of way

JW's just bother me in general, I have the 1909 edition of their book that I found at a garage sale. They believe only around 147,000 or so are going to heaven. I like to mess with the door to door JW's by pointing out the 147,000 might be already filled and they are wasting their time.

But hey I'm Baptist so were cruel that way

In my old neighborhood we used the
"Jehovah's witness protection program"

The minute you spotted one, there was a network to call, and eventually everyone had their blinds shut, and was locked up inside.

It's 144,000. You let 3,000 too many into heaven according to them. I have a bigger view of the place, myself.
