Why do all my threads ride the edge?
Any sumpremist attitude turns me off and the arrogance of folks that know they are saved and others are not unless they believe their doctrine just makes me laugh.
I was explaining my method of worship to my Jesus freak buddy. I explained that I am closer to god when I drop in on a steep virgin slope and make the first turn or paddle out into some overhead surf. Thats when god and me are mates.
Faith is believing something you have little proof about. If there is little proof then I have little faith. I can say that I think it has been proven that there is some sort of creator. Something has to be respobsible for this beautiful existance but I will be damned if I'll ever claim I know and think you dont.
I think it is very possible that god showed himself in different forms to different folk during different times. Then we all got too much pride and started killing each other too prove our god was the right god when actually we are all right. ....OK I might be a Buddhist.

I've heard from someone on the inside...well they used to be a JW...that they say it's the hardest working 144k that get to go to heaven. So next time they are knocking on your door, ask them if they are there to save your soul or are they there to save their own soul. And from what I understand, the JW's have to go through armageddon and "Witness" how bad it is...meanwhile the other religions say you get raptured straight to heaven just as armageddon starts...now call me crazy, but if I were a religious person, i'd rather go before all the bad stuff happens! Ask them next time is it the 144k that survive armageddon, or 144k of the hardest working ever? If the prior then no one they know wo has passed on is in heaven(so why go if not going to be reunited) and if the latter, how do they know that the 144k spaces haven't already been filled, or can one lose his spot to a future hardest worker.

I do belive in helping my neighbor with as much help as I can give. But if some body asks me for my personal belongings that has no need of them, other than to stuff them in a box. I'll see him in Wouldn't a true Christian not question wether or not his neighbor actually needed the items asked for, since God might be testing his faith as a true believer, i.e., it would be better to error on the side of caution and give the neighbor what he asks for since one's eternal resting place may be at stake.

it would be better to error on the side of caution and give the neighbor what he asks for since one's eternal resting place may be at stake. A Christian's salvation is not dependant on whether or not he gives his neighbor his new craftsman drill. I would not give just because someone asks but I will (and have) given when I saw a need whether or not the person asked. Carlos

The belief we came from monkeys is wrong, there isn't a linear evolution track between the monkeys and the apes. Monkeys and the Great Apes(which humans are part of) did originate from the same species at some time, but have both evolved along different lines since the split. As with Monkeys and Apes, the human line also split and evolved along seperate lines as well. It was estimated that about 4 millionm years ago the human and last Ape(the chimp) line split again, but this has now been pushed back to about 7 million years ago since a recent find pushed the bipedal ape(human line) back to 6.5 million years. Then within each Ape lineage there are several branches that evolved alongside of and died off leaving what we have today. The homo sapien lineage evolved along side the Neanderthal lineage, humans are not evolved neanderthals as a lot of people think. Both Humans and Neanderthals existed at the same time in Europe inhabiting the same region up until about 100-125k yrs ago when they vanished(likely killed off/out bread by humans), i.e. survival of the fittest.
Here is a question for all those who believe in God to ponder, not answer here. Since God is a perfect being and a perfect being cannot create anything imperfect(even by trying) aren't all humans already perfect and have no reason to fear not going to heaven, regardless of our actions here on earth. Our use of "Free Will" and the "Original Sin" cannot keep us out of heaven because God created "Free Will", and everything we do with "Free Will" even the "Original Sin" is a perfect act because God created us, and everything a God creates is perfect.

The largest inconsistency here with Christian theology though is that the quality of an individual, their 'perfectness' or lack thereof, is not the determining factor in achieving the ideal. As such, this is a non-question overall. Of course, at least in my personal understanding, achieving heaven is not the ultimate almighty goal. It's not the cash purse at the end of the race, it is simply a reflection of a fulfilled relationship with God. James

I do believe this thread has strayed far enough from the original topic, yes?
