Hi guys, I've got an 84 toyo with a 22r. I've dug around in the arcives, not seen anything specific on this problem.

I put a radiator cap with a temp gauge on it, see here I've got a new radiator, hoses, etc...on my truck after rebuilding the top end.

My truck runs at about 190' for normal operating temp, the in cab gauge reads about just below the halfway mark.
I've noticed that after running at normal temp and I turn the engine off the temp gauge on the radiator slowly goes up goes up to 210+' before it cools down. If I turn on the ignition the in cab gauge reads about at the halfway mark, normal temp.

If I let the truck idle for several minutes before turning it off it will stay at 190' and cool down from there.
The hoses feel very "pressurized" at 210' temp, I'm afraid I'm gonna blow a hose or something....

Is this normal? I'm thinking of an electric fan with a thermostat that will cool the engine down for a while after I shut it down.. I'm looking at one of these here with a painless wiring set up.

What say you?
