Spinalguy, where did you mount the sub? I bought one for my Pajero but was wondering where to put it so it will be least intrusive.

I'm TTT'ing this post, since it seems I have a LIMOpajero now coming, and the speakers are different than my little shorty...
It sounds like I need: Doors: 6.5" Rear: 6x9s Dash: 4" (I'll be using the kickers that are in the shorty)
Anyone have any updates to their install, or pics they'd like to share? (BTW, you may have to get used to me topping posts, since I have to relearn the Pajero again, from a 2 foot longer perspective...)

Stock front doors are 5.25". I could not get the door cards back on with the 6.5" speakers installed. I doubt that there would have been a difference from another manufacturer. 5.25" units went in without a problem. The 6.5" sounded better, so that was a bit disappointing.
One thing to be aware of is that the front L and R speakers are wired in parallel, so you'll risk damage to your head unit which will see a 2ohm load if you use standard 4ohm car audio speakers. My Sony's been holding up fine though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
If I were to do it over, I think I'd not bother with the 4" speakers, since they add almost nothing to the sound quality anyway. Either that, or go with a 5.25" component set, tuck the crossovers into the 4" dash speaker locations, and the tweeters would look great and be perfectly positioned on the angled portion of our dash.

5 1/4s eh? Hmmmm.. I was thinking components too - I had components in Betsy I, back in the day (95) and haven't had the same clarity since...
As far as the dash spkrs, I'm taking the ones from Betsy IV to put in Betsy V, so they'll cost nothing - they're Kickers, and with bass caps they'll do okay filling in the sound - as far as the load, I'm not too concerned since I have an amp: thinking I'll use the head unit for the front dash spkrs, the head's rear output for the doors, and an amp for the rears....I think. So no go on the 6 1/2s eh? 6x9s definitely fit the rear?

I can tell you my Infinity 6.5s definitely did not fit in the door. I re-read the thread though and it sounds like Spinalguy got 6.5s in his doors? Possibly with a custom spacer?
I haven't done my rears yet. I'm going with 6.5s there for sure, even if 6x9s fit, since I have them and a plate will be easy to build.
Where are you putting your amp?

No idea, but there has to be more room than in my current rig, right? I was wondering about the little cubby that the lwb has under the rear seats where the jack is, but that'd be better for the rear speakers.. Maybe somewhere on the firewall behind the glove box? I'll have to see how much room there is after I get it. I can already see from the couple of pics I have that the cruise control servos (at least that's what they look like) are going to make reinstallation of my underhood compressor more difficult... so its a wait and see I guess.
Not sure how Dr.Tom got his 6.5s in there? Praps he'll weigh in shortly?
