Hmmm. Thanks for that link back to your thread. I have to say I tried a set of Infinity and MTX 6.5" speakers and they fit, but the door card would not go on. Looks like your Sony speakers have a smaller rubber surround and a lower metal protective ring than the brands I chose. Strange.



My 5.25" fit perfectly without a bracket, but I did drill a couple new holes in the stock plastic mount.

Installed a pair of JBL 6" coaxials in the rear and stock 4" (i think they are 4") in the dash with the stock mitsubishi stereo. for what they are worth, i've actually got some midbass, pink floyd and crystal method sound nice.

Just ordered some speakers. Was set on Infinity's, but found a good deal on some Energy components (some of you may know Energy home speakers, good Canadian brand). 5.25s, with separate tweets. Found a very good independent review, and pulled the trigger. Should be here next week. Not sure where I'll mount the tweeters (anyone has some ideas or even better: pictures, lemme know).

I think for the rears, I may go with a 6.5" round, since I have an Infinity sub, and the rears will only be fill-in anyways, since they're so far back... not sure if I'll waste any $ on the dash panel speakers or not... but these fronts supposedly sound pretty nice? Nice Phil! I didn't know you were such an audiophil(e), har har. Definitely don't bother with the 4" dash ones. I regret I did. Junk them and mount your crossovers in there instead. For the tweeters, I always pictured them on the 45-degree flat spot right on the dash above the vents. Here's a pic where you can see what I mean:



You could surface mount right there and would almost look stock. You'd have to drill a hole for the wire, but Betsy 4 only lasted what, a month before you put a hole in the fender anyway?

I may have told you about the 2 sets of Infinity 6x8s for the Green Machine, they arrived today. I didn't go with the JVC that was little brother to yours. I'm expecting this any day now:



If I like it a lot, I may pick up a second one for the Pajero.

Nice head unit! You'll have to let me know how it works for you. I'm happy with mine, though the touch screen takes some getting used to - I generally use the remote instead.

That will depend on What's being hauled/towed and if the price of diesel ever drops below gas again! I think I sold my civic to a staff member looking for a car for his kids. So the net cost of the Green Machine is zero!

Now with family hauling duties handed over from the Pajero, it should be more serious mod time! I still want those rock sliders if you are ordering.
