Body Damage is Cool
The filter sock helps the high flow filters from getting as dirty as quick, that's what they are for.

BJ there is nothing wrong with cone filters, or aftermarket filters. Some (not all) do provide better airflow, but that is not necesarily a good thing for our application...if the vehicle does see off road use. If the vehicle does not, then those filters are not a bad idea....As long as you do not mind cleaning and then oiling the dang things. Personally I would rather just buy a new cheap filter when it comes to my Jeep...Now my prelude is a different story. The more air that I can put into that motor the more efficient it will be...and yes BJ...more efficient than what Honda originally made it...not just talking air filters here either.

By the way, AEM makes DRY HIGH FLOW filters now. Bout the same as the K&N's, just a dry filter instead of an oiled one...washable and everything.

BJ, again the intent was and it is spelled out in my webpage in "Part I, para, 1), 2) and NOTE.

I said it was the intent to use the OEM air box, but for Part I was going to use the tube and cone filter I already had.

The tube/cone is an extremely common filter setup for short wheelbase Jeep and in posting on my website I took that into consideration, thus "a couple ways to do this".

So I have no intentions of removing Part I as there are far too many young lions out there that run a similar setup.
