I think the difference in SoCal is that everyone is working together to fix the problem rather that trying to find someone to blame like during Katrina. There's a lot less of "you owe me something" and more of "how can I help?"

What you think, and the reality is alot different. MOST of the people killed during Katrina were not in New Orleans. Thats just where the media grabbed onto, and started making news. All the Blame stuff was media morons, and political boobs, and those people were not involved in the help. No where here did I see the "you owe me something" attitude. It was more like "how can I help others". Just because you saw something on TV, does not mean you understand how everyone effected acted.

The leadership here was great. We had relief almost instantly, and it was streaming in for weeks, and months afterwards. Everyone worked together, and for the most part, it was a fairly well thought out response.

These two scenarios are completly totally different, but I will tell you what......New Orleans was NOT the center of this destruction. It was actually a pretty minor part of the damage, and the media just hyped it way way up because there was a chance for everyone to watch, and be "horrified"
