so truck had a miss so i went to pull the plugs they all came out easy but the 4th seemed funny turns out plug came out with the threads!

so is there any coil kit i should use so i don;t have to pull the head off!
i'm dieing here!

helicoil it... search you might have some luck...

Any good auto parts store will have the "helicoil" style. They are sold under numerous brand names, but are all the same thing. They are the thick black inserts. The kit comes with the tap, inserts, and the tool to set them in place.

Use lots of cutting fluid, and use a shop vac right next to the drill/tap to catch any loose shavings. Anything left should burn out the exhaust since its an aluminum head.

There is a tool called Sav-A-Thread by the makers of Helicoil. I purchased one at AutoZone for ~$30. Its easily the best thread repair tool I have used. It pilots its self through while cutting a larger set of threads for the steel insert (NOT a helicoil spring type). Put some grease on the tool to hold the shavings and just clean and re-grease it a few times. Once the hole is cut clean it out with brake cleaner then you loctite the insert and screw it in till it stops. Once it bottoms out you give it a good whack with another tool to round over the top edge to lock it in. It works very nicely.

I'll vouch for that setup over a heli-coil. Used a lot on outboard boat motors and they are the best. You actually end up with a steel insert mating up with a steel plug. No stripping issues. Just make sure when you whack it to set it, whack it hard. Too soft and it will back out with the plug.
