read previous post from jeff mason on 8/23/07 and there was something that big swede sent him, something about a planet site with info on tranny limp mode fixes.can anyone tell me what that is?
seems that most often the cause for limp mode is the computer sensing electrical/electronic problems and uses that mode to protect its internal electronics including computer. it often is the charging system not putting out enough, most often the alternator itself, though it can be as simple as the simple stuff: connections, wiring, battery, battery terminals, grounds. here's a link to a thread in the archives here that gives a bunch of info i discovered, mostly from the factory manual

http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

btw, it can be *simple* stupid. i once got the ol limp mode from flipping the dimmer switch back and forth killing time at a red light -- so don't do that either.
