And, what will need to be adjusted, if anything, as far as the shifter into the transmission, or transfer case? What will the wear and tear be like on things knows to get damaged over time because of this lift?

Yes, it's easy to install. Took me and two others about 3 hours to do their LWB, and me (by myself) between 4 and 6 hours to do my SWB late one night. I did a write-up of notes on the install and it's posted on 4crawler's site:

Just jack the body carefully and a little bit at a time to make sure nothing is hanging up (jack a little then get the truck a quick look-over). I found it to be surprisingly easy.
