Use the bolts you removed from the starter. When you tap a new set of threads something may go wrong. If it was holding fine, put it back in. One thing you may wish to check out is the strength grade of the bolt you removed against what should be there. The FSM has the information in it. If the grade of the bolt you removed is lower than recommended, I'd find a bolt of the same size but in the right grade or stronger.
