Need a Spot
Hello Gang! Its been about three months since Ive purchased the raider and today I decided to see how the 4 wheel drive works. My question is when I shift from 2wd to 4wd high I see the wheel lock light appear, as wheel as the 4wd double axle light. I here it working well, and the feel of the steering feels more stronger. Though when I shift from 4wd high to 2wd I see the 4wd double axle light disappear, but the wheel lock light still appears, even while driving. When I got home I shut off the truck an return the key to see that the wheel lock light is still on. Is this normal, and how can I turn off the wheel locks? I do have the stock auto hubs.

BTW: what is the correct way to change from 4wd high to low?

Thanks,

when you shift to 2wd you have to back up for a few feet.

Yes.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Easiest thing to do is read the drivers door panel.

to shift from 4high to 4low and visa versa you have to come to a complete stop and put the tranny in neutral.

When you first put it in 4high you must be completely stopped but after that as long as the "wheel lock" light is on you can shift between 2wd and 4high while driving at any speed, just move the shifter.

Come to a complete stop before shifting from HI to LO and vice versa.

Not true. My sensor went bad in my Raider in the winter. I went from 4wdhi to 2wd and was going down the road, hit a snowy patch. Engaged 4wd and one of the hubs wasnt engaged anymore. GRRRRRRRSSSSSSHHHHH.... That hub never did lock right after that.
