I put the Pace Setter header on my 2.6. I just want to report that with a stock exhaust I noticed no increase in decibles, or tone. In fact, its just as quiet as it ever was, however! Up and down shifts are smoother, as is acceleration, and throttle response. Gas milage went up slightly too. The engine doesn't seem as buzzy now, and has a pleasent drone. The engine gains revs smooth and quick, and doesn't buzz badly when down shifting. It almost feels as if a lighter flywheel was installed.

I'm very happy with the results, but now I want a glasspack.... I need more tone, and the stock muffler is way to quiet for me.

I had a hooker super competition header in the flat bed truck but it failed from heat fatigue and blew out one of the tubes. I replaced it with a montero cast iron manifold and gutted the precat with a long screwdriver I noticed no seat of the pants difference in the header and the hillbilly engineered manifold when connected to a 2.25" exhaust and turbo muffler. I have a fully functioning high flow Catalyst under the floor pan. just my 0.02.
