wow i havnt been on this site in a while, been at school for about 11 hours a day, well my problem is i get a thumping from under the jeep when i accelerate hard, i was told it could be the transmisson mount or the transfer case shifter linkage, how would i go about checking both of these?

I don't see how the t-case linkage could cause this. The first thing I'd be looking at is the rear drivshaft. See if there is any play back and forth in it. Worn U joint or possibly alignment bearing if it's a CV shaft. U joint would be my first suspect.

Check your transmission mount and the motor mounts. If you have any play in one of those, the enitre driveline could be torquing up into your floor pan.

The factory rubber bushing mounts are prone to dry rot just like tires are. They won't be "chewed up", but look more like they are crumbling. If they look like that then they are not absorbing anything, just squishing out of the way. Might also want to check to see if it is just the bolts that are loose.
The prob occuring at acceleration, especially hard acceleration, leads me to believe that it couldn't be much else but the driveline mounts....tranny mount and motor mounts checked visually...you might need to lower your T-skid to check the tranny mount...not familiar with TJ's.
