Getting the Wheeling Fever
YES I READ THE FAQ first!

Time to add my dumb question. I have a 91, 3.0/auto, 155K truck. It idles roughly, and all the lights flicker(Dash, headlights, dome lights etc). The PO replaced the "Throttle Position Sensor" and all the tuneup stuff (I have reciepts anyway...) All the belts and hoses were done, too...it still idles funny. What's next? I THINK the low idle and the flickering is related since the lights are fine once I'm actually driving. Thank you all for the good forum.

I would check the IAC (also known as the ISC or Idle Speed Controller) first. There's a recent thread about this, and the Factory Service Manual gives the procedure to check the coils with a VOM. The flickering lights are most likely due to the alternator not putting out a steady voltage due to your low idle rpms.

That's where I'd start. I'm sure others with much more knowledge than me will chime in. Let us know how you get on! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
