Need a Spot
Runs good, could use a tune up. Got it for $200 from a friend. Great little ride. I want to lift it and put some bigger tires on it, but I need some info.

How do I find out gear ratio in the rear end, where to find lift kits, and how well the stock 4 cylinder will hold up to a 3" lift with say 33's?

Thanks!

First, welcome to the Forum(s).

There is a very high chance that your final drive ratio is 4.56. A very few rigs with factory 31" tires came with 4.77 gears.

About the only source of lift hardware is Independent 4X4 in Richmond, VA.

I don't have my favorites or phone numbers on this machine or I would post those, but I am sure someone else will help out.

I will also leave comments regarding the 2.6 and 33"s to someone who has a 2.6.

Thank you very much! even though I payed for this rig, I stole it from the guy. I have a daily driver, so this will just be a toy, but man, I cant believe he only wanted $200 for it, said he just wanted it out of his yard. I drove it home. 45 minute drive, not one single problem along the way.

Good deal, I paid 400.00 in a junk yard for mine and pulled it home. New Timing stuff, tune up, clutch, battery, hoses, vacuum lines, and a fuel pump. and drove it back out to the junk Yard and got another Trooper for parts pulled it onto the trailer and pulled that one home. That was 8 years ago. and it had 130K Blew head gasket at 185,xxx waited 2 LONG years to get her back to running. I love her, cant get rid of her. I was 16 when I got her. How many People do you know of that keep thier First vehicle in highschool. Never be wrecked.ive had her 8 years. Hope you keep your, it will do you good.
