This is re: the 2WD to 4WD trans fix. Where I live the junkyards have been really picked over. I live in po-dunk Ukiah, about 2.5 hours North of San Fran and about 3 hours West of Sac. I've heard of make specific junk yards near Sac, possibly closer to Chico, but I have no idea what the name of the yard is or exactly where it's at! Anybody know of the yard I'm talking about or a good one in my geographic area??? I'll drive the miles for the parts but I really want to know about the yard on I-5.

Rancho Cordova is a good area, get off on "Recycle Way" and you'll find miles and miles of every type of yard. Several are Toyota specific. Toyota Truck Parts is one place there. Or try searching http://www.car-part.com/ with your location and it'll find nearby yards with the parts you are looking for.

Yeah rancho has some good stuff i have gotten multiple parts from there, also there is a wrecking yard in fresno right off highway 99 that has a decent amount of parts, they are always selling IFS steering boxes on ebay, and if your in fresno thats where Marlin Crawler is.

The one in Chico tends to be a hoit and a miss, and wouldn't be worth the drive. There is another Toyota only yard in Roseville about 20-35(depending on traffic) minutes north from Rancho Cordova. If you know what parts you need, it might be worth calling and paying for shipping that is a bit of drive from Ukiah.
have you checked Craigslist.com for Toyotas being parted out.

You noticed I said "was" it closed down a few years ago. Part of James Auto Wreckers is a Pick-N-Pull type place now but pickups and runners are few and far between. I did pick up a set of complete cherry doors for $125.00, both doors.

I don't seem to use any of them anymore, either they don't have what I need, or I can get better prices on craigslist. $125 for a set of doors isn't bad from a yard, the main yard up here wants $100/ea., $70ea. if they are still good for 1/2 doors.

Stay away from TAP.
Watch Craigslist and the classified section on Pirate, Marlin and here. What do you need? I have a few things laying around, but a kid from Redding cleaned out most of my stockpile.
