Getting the Wheeling Fever
So,I'm still trying to figure out which part of the wiper system is malfunctioning...The problem is that snow prevented the wipers from functioning and something within the system (I'm assuming) got burned out. The wiper still work, however, the intermittent setting makes the wipers move back and forth continuously and when the switch is turned off, the wiper arms stop where they are (as opposed to returning to the bottom of the windshield).

I've replaced the wiper switch assembly on the steering column, but the problem persists.

My question to you is: What else is in the wiper system that could be a cause of my problem? The guy at the parts store said some cars have electronics on the wiper motor and that the motor on mine could be causing the issue...

HELP!!!

there is an intermittent wiper module thing mounted somewhere on, or around, the steering column. I'll look tomorrow when there is light, to see If I can see where it is on my 99 XJ, because they will be the same. And if it is the same part as the one I pulled out of my parted out YJ, then I have a spare available to be sold.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey Guy,

Thanks for the reply! AS it turns out, it was the wiper motor that got fried. After some net sleuthing, I found the following link:
http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl669e.htm

Turns out the final test is what confirmed the parts store's assumption. I got the new/use motor in and all is good!
