If I have spark the crank sensor should be good. I am pretty sure that the crank sensor tells the computer to fire the injectors and the cam sensor tells it which cylinder to fire.

Yes (like AXAMAN said)!

Sometimes the Internal Computer fails to read problems.

My bet is on the Camshaft sensor deficit! Based on this given scenario <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

It is resposible for the injector pulse <at least on the 2001> (granted the crankshaft was ruled out).

What's the Fuel Pressure Check SAY????

The new ecm is giving new problems. I now have 80lbs of pressure in the #1 cylinder and will try to start when cold on first try. Could have I washed the cylinder with fuel or did I have compression problem all the way.

what is the pressure in the other cylinders ? I don't think fuel in the cylinder would give a low compression but a higher one as it would fill in any gaps like oil would, there a lot smarter guys here then me, but my first thought would be a blown headgasket, sticky valve, worn rings or broken ring, a warped head, or even a crack between a plug and 1 of the valves all 4 valves are close to the plug. when you pulled the plug what did it look like ? or all other plugs also, John

You need to step back and re-group and answer these questions:

1. You verified spark. You suspect no injector pulse. But when you pulled the spark plugs are they wet or dry? If they are wet with fuel then you MUST have an injector pulse. What did you find here?

2. You stated that you verified the timing belt. But you said you just verified that the 2 cam gears lined up. Did you verify that the cam gears align with the timing mark on the CRANKSHAFT? If you didn't go back and check it. If it's off that could explain the 80 PSI on cylinder 1. And are the other cylinders reading the same?

I went back and checked the timing and it was off. Reset timing and engine runs. I still get a camshaft sensor fault and the water pump is leaking.

Replace the timing belt, the idler pulley, the tensioner pulley and spring, and the water pump.

You're getting a camshaft sensor fault because the belt is loose or stretched.
