You can find an adhesive backed aluminized heat/sound insulation material on the internet. The same stuff they use on the new Corollas and such between the motor and the firewall. Not cheap but very good. I have used it for special applications at the local fire department. Can't recall the name of the stuff, but a simple search will find it. Stuff looks like a shiny quilt.
