Need a Spot
So as of recent I have been hearing this rattling sound comming from the front right Hub. I remove the tire and the hub cover and behold I missing parts, I am missing the compression spring and the ring it sits on. I have done service on 4x4 truck before but never noticed and springs would swapping to a Man locking hub eliminate all that crap inside the hub? What else needs to be done to do an auto 2 man hub swap?

OK so I understand the swap but I couldnt tell what old parts will be removed. Will my truck still use the old compression spring or is that going to be removed?

There is a diagram of the manual Aisin hub here http://www.yankeetoys.org/Documents/AisinHubs.pdf

I would think that you don't need any of your auto-hub parts - just replace with the manual hub.

Note that on some vehicles (mine included) the bolt illustrated as inserting into the end of the drive shaft was replaced by a circlip sitting in a groove around the end of the shaft.

The diagram above is good and it works well, but it is for Toyota. Isuzu has never used a bolt in the stub shaft. It has always been a c-clip.

Thanks for the lesson Michael <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> - I didn't know that - I've only owned my current Isuzu <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />
