Getting the Wheeling Fever
After reading some old posts I've decided to install a after market oil pressure gauge. I've been looking at the factory gauge set and I think I can use the existing plate to install 2 inch aftermarket gauges there. The guages actually seperate from the plate and there are 1 3/4 inch holes in the black plastic dash plate, if they don't fit I think I can make the holes a little bigger. I want these to look neat and professional, I don't like the idea of a bracket mounted on the dash. Has anyone every done this and does anyone know if the aftermarket fuel guages work with the Isuzu sender in the tank. I see they sell one for GM vehicles and one for Ford vehicles.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I sure would like to have some feed back on this. I've noticed that activity sure has slowed on here the last few weeks, must be the holidays. So if anyone has anything to add or any experience with this your input would be greatly appreciated.

No , the sending unit won't work with an aftermarket guage. When I did mine I put in a fuel cell with a GM 0-90 sending unit and compatable guage.Right now I have one in front of my cluster , but will eventualy replace them all with digital.I have one for the fuel allready , but am waiting until I get the oil and temp ones.

I believe the Isuzu sending unit is something like 0-120 or something like that , its not a common one at all.Jerry Lemond should be able to chime in and correct me on this , but I know for sure the fuel guage won't work.

The oil one should work as long as you get the right sending unit on that , that fits in the same spot.I think its 1/4 , but not 100% sure as I haven't done anything on my truck in a while , but I did look into the Cyberdine guages , and tehy will work for the temp and oil , with worst case scenario getting another sending unit that will fit , only thing is they aren't cheap , about 50-106 depending what style you get.

The hardest part you will find is getting guages that will fit into the holes , and then how to get them to mount in the cluster cover. For that I was going to get a piece of aluminum and put a back plate on.Hope this helps.
