On the rocks, it makes a lot of difference. Front wheels do not have enough articulation to keep both tires on the rocks all the time. When you lift a front tire, you basically have a 2WD truck without the front locker. With the locker, you have at least 3WD <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The front locker is especially handy when you are climbing uphill some large rocks.
