Thanks for the info. I tried disconnecting the wire from the sending unit, the oil pressure meter read nothing, so that's a good sign. I'll get out my meter to try the other thing.

I meant to check the manual a couple of days ago for a way to check the sending unit but never got around to it (Uta gave me a mutant interstellar virus from another galaxy, an alien pox... okay it was just a sinus infection...). This will save me some time.

Has there ever been a write up making of the gauge cluster in the pic near the bottom of this thread?:

What size gauges were used? 2-5/8 for all?
