i was wondering if i could use a larger oil filter on my truck, say a ford oil filter? Would that work? I hear that they line of perfectly. What would be the ramifications?

From what I've heard, the bypass spring is weaker on the ford filter. With the bypass spring being weaker, it'll let unfiltered oil back into the engine sooner than the stock filter will. And as we all know, unfiltered oil is not good for the engine. But since I haven't had a chance to look the info up myself, all I can say is that's what I've heard. If you go to the auto parts store and get a competent person behind the counter (which is getting harder to find these days, unfortunately)they can get you the filter book that will list all of the specs and you can either confirm or debunk the info.
