Update-Well what I've found and done so far- loose timing belt due to tensioner bushing wear(installed backwards too).Wrong spark plugs.(no compression test, belt off)One butterfly broken off rod, 1/3 of it remaining in center rh intake port. Cut butterfly shaft and re-assembled engine. Runs rough and SMOKES like a mosquito fogger truck. All pcv's are open, hand over oil fill when running, no apparent blow by issues, just smokes like a hole in piston-white not blue,no anti freeze smell or loss but really burns the eyes.
So if I got it right, an 02 Galant 3.8 block with my 3.5 heads is a workable combination. Or should I search for other dohc heads due to piston domes.
