BJ is right about the gears, but it's not a "huge" loss of power. I ran mine like that for a couple of years while I saved up for a better axle and new gears. He's right about never using 5th gear though. If it's an auto tranny the torque converter will mask the effect a bit. 7" lift? Don't need to go near that much.
