It pulls straight off..... but first you have to remove the crankshaft key. The key won't keep the pump from coming off, but it will cut the seal on removal.
The pump body fits over 2 dowel pins that may be burred and holding it in place. Try prying gently at the outer edges.

I pried the crap out of it ---to the point of no return---i orderd a new pump ---will have it Monday
The only thing i can think of is that there is alittle corrision on the crank or the pump is cocked.

You did remove the crankshaft sprocket, right? That's the part that usually hangs up from corrosion..... sometimes they have to be coaxed off with a cold chisel.

How about the oil pickup tube that bolts to the oil pump?

How about the oil pickup tube that bolts to the oil pump? Good thought. I assumed that was off - maybe not. Frank

I dont think its connected
all Data doesent say anything about unbolting it or removing the oil pan

It's connected. AllData didn't include all of the data. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
You will now need to either hoist the engine an inch or so - or drop the differential - in order to remove the oil pan and remove the oil pickup. The oil pickup has 4 bolts - 2 on the oil pump and 2 on the brace legs that are attached to the bearing girdle rails.
Even if there was no oil pickup (and there is), the oil pan has to come off before you can remove the pump and reinstall another.
I'm curious as to why you need to remove the pump.
