Well, It all started the other day I was driving to work,
I saw some smoke comming from under the hood,I glanced at the oil pressure gage and it was at zero, so i pulled over and opend the hood i found oil everywhere. So I added 3 Quarts, had good oil pressure and drove two miles to work.
When i got to my shop I cleaned the engine and topped off the oil. I ran the engine and noticed a steady stream of oil comming from the bottom of the timing cover.
I assumed that the front crank seal had failed, so I orderd a front timing cover set, when i recieved it , it had a front seal, and oil pump gaskets, so I figured i would replace the gaskets just because i was there.(there was no problem with them)
Well that seems to be my mistake, now i screwed up yhe oil pump from prying on it and now i guess I have to remove the oil pan too.I would have never replaced the gaskets if I knew. ALL DATA sucks.they said it would come right off after removing the timing belt, lower gear & tensioner.
I am going to call them and complain on Monday !
Thanks for your help,
By the way I am looking for another 3.0 engine to rebuild and put in this truck This ones got a bad cylinder that burns oil, or do you know the secret to use a 3.0 out of a mini van and what year?
