What Corey has there are sealed enclosures. Makes for a tighter bass, cleaner sound, but as you know, not as loud. As long as the volume inside the box is correct, should sound very nice!

correct .. not going for "loud" .. but crisp nice sound , something to listen to or my passengers can watch a DVD , on those long trips to the car shows I measured up the box and took it into my "sterio guy" and the subs are what he recommended for the box/volume .. no ports , no partitions I do have to remove the power block from the box though , as it is to close to the crossovers on the l side , I'm sure it will create unwanted noise if I dont .

Just curious Corey, but from the pix you posted, I don't see any air ports in your speaker enclosure. As far as I know, speakers gotta breathe. I built 6x9 enclosures for mine and drilled a 3/4" hole in the side of each. I have no idea what size hole is best suited for a given speaker size. With my stereo cranked up, the air that gets pushed through the hole is pretty substantial! Yours will push much more and if there's no where for the air to go, your speakers won't move like they should and the sound will suffer. Just my opinion, but I could be wrong...... I'm with many others here; great build and awesome documentation on your build! You could write a book!! LOL Speakers you want to be sealed up (will make the lows sound better and give them better power handling). Subs can be either or, i've got mine in a ported box right now but i dont like it that much, want to go sealed.... it sounds odd at certain outputs... Power Block isn't in too bad of a location, You should... be fine.

Thanks guys, you educated me! I'm gonna get a couple of 3/4" plugs for the port holes I made and listen for the difference in my system.

Hey Cory the treker is coming along great, however I was wondering why didn't you have the bed blasted and painted before mounting as you did the cab?

Thanks guys ...
chpfx - I didnt "blast" the bed because it's fiberglass . Sandblasting fiberglass is never a good idea as the media has a tendancy to imbed it's self into the panels .. i'm going to mechanically strip the old paint on the rear ..
As I have mentioned , I didnt paint the out side , because of my shop conditions .. not enough room .. I already have to scraches on the primed surfaces .. I would be real choked if the scraches were in the paint !!

Looking good. About the blasting, the guy i use says he can do / has done fiberglass (corvettes) and it comes out great. He doesn't use sand, he usually uses baking sodas, but uses something with even less grit for the fiberglass, and apparently it turns out great. Do you have any soda blasters in your area?
