Why not put the amps under the seats so you don't lose the cargo space in the back?

not enough room , + here in the summer , i'm positive they would overheat . building a box , and with the rockfords I got , it is a min size box necessary so I can put the amps , fuse block , and crssovers all on the box .. box dimentions are 40" X 12 " X 8" wide .. so all in all , I wont loose to much space
.

My amps overheat if i cover them up (unless i run cooling fans)... under teh seat would be OK if there is enough flow over them... but when they're in the sun they'll overheat

so as I mentioned .. steering wheel is in .. ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01776004.jpg) I also bought one of those cheep car covers off of ebay .. it's suposably for a 4Runner .. its basically a generic cover , but I figured with the interior and electroncis going in , and my shop being so dusty .. It might be a good idea .. ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01776001.jpg) also .. got the SUB box mostly done .. ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01776002.jpg) .

so with today being a long weekend I was able to get a little more done on the sub box .. Friday I gel coated it .. about 40mils thick .. so I could sand it down smooth .. this will "seal" the wood , so I can continue with paint.. sanded , and prepping for some "hi build " primer ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01777001.jpg) shot with the hi build , and ready for some sanding ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01777002.jpg) and finally .. I decided to go with the interior grey of some of the interior plastics , dash base , center console ... ![[Linked Image]](http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2/bj_bumperboy/MY%20Trekker/IM01777003.jpg) should be all cured and ready for the subs , amps and crossovers tomorrow .

Just curious Corey, but from the pix you posted, I don't see any air ports in your speaker enclosure. As far as I know, speakers gotta breathe. I built 6x9 enclosures for mine and drilled a 3/4" hole in the side of each. I have no idea what size hole is best suited for a given speaker size. With my stereo cranked up, the air that gets pushed through the hole is pretty substantial! Yours will push much more and if there's no where for the air to go, your speakers won't move like they should and the sound will suffer. Just my opinion, but I could be wrong...... I'm with many others here; great build and awesome documentation on your build! You could write a book!! LOL
