Not necessarily. They are pretty well insulated. Proper procedure it to test them for continuity with a multi-meter.


Beat me to it ... Fusible links are just a smaller gauge wire inside a thicker than normal insulator jacket. They're designed so that the wire inside will fry, but the outer jacket will not melt and compromise more. And like Michael said, only way to make sure is to break out the meter and do a continuity test on them.
