Been a long time since I have been on here, but ran into an issue a couple of weekends ago and need a part.

Somehow, after 15 years since the last replacement of this part (then under warranty) I need to replace my slip yoke again.... I did a search on eBay and found one, but it looked like it was for a different vehicle all together.

My question is this: With all the SYE kits that are sold, what on earth are people doing with their old slip yokes? While I'm at it, I figure it would be a good time to replace the bearing as well.... Do I go with brand new or look for a hardly used yoke, and replace the housing when I replace the bearing or just the bearing?

BJ, Sorry, I moved, no longer in Short Pump anymore.... haha...

Well shortpump I have been wondering when you'd break something else so I could hear from you..
As always I'll tell you where I get special parts..
Get on eBay and anyone that has a part that will fit your ride eMail them asking if they have the special part you need.. I have never lost on a that deal.. So far I have received every part I needed.
As for a used bearing? I'd only use a bearing that I took out myself and KNEW it's weaknesses.. I don't think I would ever use someone elses used bearing.

Silly man, I was referring to used yokes, and if I should replace the bearing or the bearing and the housing together....
I've found parts on eBay before, but typically they are WAY overpriced. IE: spring loaded lic plate holder for a YJ, dude on eBay wanted $25 for a used one, but an OEM one from a widely recognized parts house is available for $20 or so with cheaper shipping. Do the math, eh?

I'm still curious as to where all the slip yokes go when they are replace with SYE kits....

Beach Buggy, where've you been? Good to see you back on the wire. It's been a long time since the SYE kit went on the 94 YJ; I believe I just chucked it in the trash with the other Jeep parts I'll never use again! But, I still have the plastic plug in the boonie box; I've carried it around for years just in case I ran into someone who might need to plug the NP231 w/o the SYE to keep from puking gear oil all over the trail. Are you finding time to get back to the beach these days?

94 YJ, SOA, 2-1/2 Alcans, ARB-front, Detroit-Rear, 4.56:1 gears, Oasis Trailhead compressor, 4:1 Terra Lo, 37x12.50x15 SSR's, 8000 lb Ramsey, & etc.

Just spent $130 on toys and a new yoke from a source online.... Gave up trying to find a used one.... Had to spend over $100 for free shipping, so, did my present's buy for myself for the year....
Yea, was fishing and goofing off on the NC coast just about a month ago now. fishing was really good, caught my bag on everything that was biting and hit the road when it got too dark to see the tips of the poles.... Was a really good weekend! Thanks for asking.
With the gas prices so high these days, I haven't really taken her out as a daily driver, got the work truck for that.... looking forward to reconnecting the rear axle to the transfer case so I can at least poke around on Sundays or something....
Good to be back here....
