Heh, I started in on the wiring for the transmission this weekend. I have the entire harness from the donor vehicle and I started untaping the main portion of it that I need. I've traced the transmission ECU connector to the engine and transmission plugs that I'll need. As much as I wanted to, I avoided cutting out what I think is not needed. I need to double and triple check my work before I start cutting.

My key concerns at this point are 1) the QOS system, I guess that's the glow plug control and 2) the instrument to gauge wires. Just need to spend some time with them next. I'm fine with having a push button for the glow plugs, my main concern is if removing that portion of the wiring will cause the transmission ECU to sense a fault of some sort. Probably not, but I'm not sure yet. Playing it safe for now.

Thanks for the offer on the wiring Adrain. Between the manual you sent me and a later model manual I downloaded
off an a different site, I think I have it covered. I'll know more in the next week.
