The window has been moving very slowly for a while now and has been making horrible grinding noises. I pulled the motor and the window moves easily in the gate. Cleaned and lubed the regulator gears and tracks. Motor moves slowly and sounds horrible on the bench. Time for a new one. I guess I can't complain too much. It did last for almost 20 years. Now the fun. Finding one that I don't have to trade a kidney for. All the yards seem to want a lot for them.


Don't condemn the motor, check the voltage coming out of the relay box. If the motor is not getting nearly the full battery voltage, there is something causing a voltage drop in the system and low voltage = low torque at the motor = slow operating speed. A replacement motor would work just as slow in this case.
