The biggest thing that'll help the tread life on a Silverado is getting a proper alignment and rotating your tires often. I'd have it done with every oil change or sooner (around 3000 miles). No tire will last as long as it says if it's left on the front of your truck for very long (by "your truck" I mean 1500 Silverado). Something about the way they set up the front end, even when properly aligned, still requires very frequent tire rotation or the fronts wear out on the insides.
