For the surginjg idle,
It may be your IAC solinoid.

if you look at the front of the engine,from the point where the plastic pipe enters the TB,move your hand down and to the left,you'll see a plug that is above the springs,try to move it,if you move it counterclockwise this will raise the idle,pulling clockwise will slow the idle,the wifes was bad and it would surge bad.it was actually boken inside.
I actually pulled it clockwise to fix idle and then zip tied it down to finish wheeling...
