Getting the Wheeling Fever
I think I want to lift my Sportage in the rear with TJ springs and the RAV4 Shocks, but can anyone give me part numbers and brand names for this stuff. I would go to the part store and just buy them but I assume there is specific year info needed for this stuff too.

What year TJ should I buy the springs for?

What year RAV4 should I buy shocks for?

Is someone still selling the front spacers so I can lift the front too?

From what I read in the other posts it sounds like the easiest way to lift the front is with spacers and 2.5" is about the most I will be able to easily lift with the spacers being sold. Can anyone verify this?

If that is true, will it hurt anything the have the rear lifted the approximate 4" that the TJ springs will provide and only have the front lifted 2.5"?

Thanks!

Chris

TJ springs, I bought mine through this guy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep...582QQihZ004QQitemZ140176568438QQtcZphoto

you will also need the bump stop and coil cups from the TJ.
To attach those I drilled 2 holes in the cup, across from each other, then marked them on the upper sportage spring plate, and drilled and tapped 2 holes and bolted the cup to that. Just ask the guy with the springs about the cups and bump stops, I ordered mine not too long ago through him.

as far as the rav4 shocks, I bought them on rock auto, I used a 1997 rav4 (not the 2 door) as the vehicle, and they seem to be the best drop in aside from custom. I also bought 2 sleeves from the hardware store since the bolt for the toyota is larger, you'd have some play and possible noise later on. the sleeves were like .50 cents each.

the front you can do a spacer OR springs.

spacer is dennis thompson

dave scott
springs OR a complete lift kit ( the best you can get for your kia, he has everything you need to do it the right way. Its more expensive, but you get what you pay for, right?

and its not going to hurt anything to have it a little higher in the rear, as long as its not too much of a difference. but it will look goofy!

IF you want to go cheap as possible, I believe dennis makes front and rear spacers for a 2 " front and rear lift.

I didn't realize someone here sold a whole lifting kit for the sportage.

I agree you do get what you pay for.

How can I get in contact with Dave Scott? I would like to buy the whole kit.

Is his kit for the front only of does he have a kit for the whole vehicle?

Thanks,
Chris
