Repair it, drive it and than look for another. As you found the market in Germany isn't that big, but from time to time something pops up. Like my current 4R, it's from Germany too.
And if you want to drive with speeds of 100+mph, don't get a 2L-3L or similar. (I know from experience <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />) At least a 1KZ-TE or a gasser.
