OK DD, Looks like all systems go. Checked the old SR over today. I got my wells guide and my so cal gazeteer. Still looking for my Anza borrego specific map. If I cant find it, Dudleys has a decent one. Wells has good maps of individual trails, but the Linsay map of Anza B. is the best for the big picture. I'll PM you my # tonight, cant remember if I already sent that to you. See you in the morning!

I run GPS tracking on my laptop using Terrain Navigator, so I'm not worried about the big picture. I'll be bringing along Peter Massey's Backcountry Adventures: Southern Cal Edition also. Between the two of us it sounds like directions won't be an issue!

What a great trip! A fun time was had by all. Here are a few pics.

Our group--Justice in front, his buddy Jeff in the middle and me bringing up the rear.

Me going through the squeeze

[Linked Image]
The next few are taken at Heart Attack Hill, AKA Pinyon Dropoff. Here we're waiting for a group of Jeeps to decend.

[Linked Image]

Here's my rear going down!

[Linked Image]

Justice's turn.
[Linked Image]

Not satisfied with just going down, Jeff heads back up, kicking some dust up along the way. Nice job with just the rear locked.
[Linked Image]

Justice gets in on the fun coming up. Made it look easy with four corners locked. Nice air!
[Linked Image]

Then of course, my camera battery dies!!! Too bad to, because that was just the warm up. We did some great wheeling after that. Navigated through a canyon with sheer vertical mud walls, and lots of big rocks. If Justice wasn't with me, I don't think I would have even considered some of the stuff we did. After an hour and a half of crawling through some knarly rocks (getting our chance to practice recovery techniques a few times) we reached a dead end and got to replay the fun on the way back.

Some of the aftermath.

Sliders are your friend. While not exactly designed for the purpose, my nerfs held up well. 2 inch worth of scrapes all the way down both sides! These are going to be retired soon for some proper RB sliders.

[Linked Image]

Crushed armor. I gotta get some better protection under there.

[Linked Image]

Fantastic trip, Justice! Thanks for putting it together. Count me in for any future carnage!

Yeah, it looks like you guys had a great time! I never got to make it AB before I left. If I'd met Justice a year earlier, I have a feeling I'd have bugged him to take me quite a few more places. I'll have to meet up with you when I get back that way. I'm glad everyone made it back ok!

Yes my daughter took some great shots. I'll try to get some up tonight.

Thanks for comming out guys. The narrow canyon we took was actually a wrong turn on my part but was both scenic and challenging at the same time so it turned out well, we were still able to take the final leg of the tour as planned but just a little faster at the end trying to beat the impending darkness. We'll have to try to make it a two day trip next time so we can explore some caves. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
