That's an interesting idea actually. I believe I have figured out a way to power my CPAP by the truck battery, so it is feasible for me. What do you do about, um, human waste? I assume it has to be packed out?
That Steelbender canyon is pretty sheltered and shaded (assuming you are talking about the one at the end by Spanish Trail, or do you mean the other end by Ken's Lake?).

The entrance, Spanish Trail.
Yep it would be dry camping so you would have to fend for yourself. The only thing that sucks about it that I have experienced before is you go to the extend of preparing such as adequate water, maybe a shelter for a portable toilet, maybe the same for a sun shower, etc, etc and there is always the one who had the mind set of mooching off of everyone else instead of properly preparing themselves. I'm not talking about those that made the attempt and just forgot something, I'm always more than willing to help those folks out because let's face it no matter how well you prepare you always forget something. You could always catch a hot shower at one of the campgrounds as well for a small fee or hit the falls at Ken's lake or Left Hand.

Nobody seems to be stepping up to actually picking a site, so I say PACK CREEK.
Pros: Location, trees, no traffic noise Negatives: No Cabins, might have to cut the grass
Anybody else want to pipe in before we start making reservations?
I've already told some Club members, so I think I already have friend with reservation here.

I have been communicating with the proprietor of Pack Creek CCampground (Ron), and mentioned that a bunch of Isuzu folks may be calling for reservations. He wrote back: my fiancee just bought a 1998 Isuzu Amigo and loves it! Any hints? She's a newbie to off-road driving. With luck, maybe she can tag along on one of your less-challenging trails? Think we can help her out? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
