The real estate market is going strong in the Salt Lake City, UT area - so I would imagine that construction jobs are relatively abundant. Lots of places to offroad too.

Also - I prefer the dry heat of the deserts over the humid heat of the east coast. 120? @ 11% humidity feels better than 85? @ 90% humidity anyday.
