This set has lasted about 20k miles which doesn't seem right to me. There are no signs of dragging. Would the minor (~1") air lift in the rear be enough to effect the proportioning valve operation? But, doesn't lift mean less rear braking force?

'97 Montero 'LSR' - 4.6 gears & factory rear locker, 33" Procomp muds on 15x8 steelies, 50mm coil spacers, T-bar crank, Airlift, sans rear sway, 50mm rear frame & fuel tank lift, Aisins, ARB front bumper + 10k lb winch, 50mm DIY body lift, rock sliders, cut rear quarter panels...

Haven't I told you before that E-brake drifting is hard on the brakes <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

J/K <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

I thought the same on the prop valve function.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

How well does the brake system stop you? Could the front brakes not be working and you are stopping with only the rear?
THe emergency brake may be causing them to drag and wear.

The emergency brake is a drum in disk type. It has no affect on the calipers.

Maybe a bad rubber flex line on the rear axle? I've heard of them going bad and causing it to maintain some residual pressure (on other vehicles that is, not specific to monty's). Just a thought.

Same thing happened to the flatbed truck. It was a stuck wheel cylinder.

I think I'll replace them and check out everything while I'm in there. Thanks to all <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
