Need a Spot
Well I am going in. I am changing the TB at 121,000 and am curious to what should I take care of while I am in there. I realize that I should change the Water pump, the tensioner and pulley and the normal stuff for an interference engine TB change, but what else? Small mods to prevent future problems and/or gain some hp/torque? There is so much on this site it is hard to take it all in. A short list of do's and don'ts will help and I will track the explanations down else where in the forum. Love the Full Monty just hate the 4hrs to do the spark plug changes...it's friggin' crazy.

Happy New year to all of my 4x4 friends and their families,
Dave F

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well lets see.... From what I've read and done so far, and planning to finish on mine...1) compression test, 2)Consider removing or replacing intake butterflies, 3)EGR blockoff with resistor. 4)Gasket matching / intake port blending. 5)PCV replacement. 6)Clean vapor filters in valve covers. 7)Replace hoses as necessary.
Thats all I can think of quickly, I'm sure I've missed a few and others will add to the list.

For a timing belt change, It Looks like you got it covered, You probably want to replace the front main seal while your in there and take a good look at the cam seals. Make sure ou replace BOTH bearings the tensioner bearing and the idler bearing. Consider replacing the hydraulic tensioner as well.
