What's it gonna take to put a 22R into my 22RE Truck? What's the most popular spot for the knock sensor again? Thanks...

If you are installing a 22R (carbureted motor) you won't need a knock sensor. -- Matt

Haha, I love this highlighted statement from teh above LCE link:
> PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION WHEN DRILLING THE BLOCK. Do not drill any deeper than the current hole in the boss. By going too far, you will drill through the block. >

YIKES. Don't drill the block. The other method I'm aware of is finding a nut that'll take the knock sensor and welding it to the spot 4Crawler indicates.
Good luck on your project!

In this thread I wrote and posted pictures of my 22RE swap. I had a rusted out '89 4runner as a donor for my '84 xtra cab. -- Matt

Well shucks- should i switch out the cam? I'm doing the timing chain anyway, and it only takes a few minutes additional. I guess i just answered my own question...
