Its starting to hit single digits around here and a warmer wouldn't be a bad idea for now. Found this one..

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/...-p_CATENTRY_ID:1000002061965000002000836

It inserts in the cooling lines and circulates warmed coolant throughout the motor. Is this one worth it? 50 bucks ain't bad

(Big Jim down on his knees) Thank you Lord for keeping me ignorant of such matters! I know nothing of these and please don't allow me to learn.

sure wouldn't hurt to get heat into the cabin faster but i thought the real issue was the oil being too cold to crank the engine over, no?

Texas isn't exactly a cold region! It's time for the mountain, northern tier, and Canadian folks to advise.

wow now that you mention it ive never seen a oil pan blanket (except on semis), maybe because we have oil that still flows well in cold temperatures

When I was in Wisconsin, I had a freeze plug pulled and a heating element put in to warm the coolant in the block. It kept the block warm which kept the oil warm.

The tranny was a different story. Sure learned to park in the gear I was going to use first.

-24*C here lately... that block heater is the ticket. they come stock in most vehicles up this way. -24 isn't all that cold when it hits -30 without the wind chill. BigJim we have an extra bed up here if ya wanna enjoy the powder for a bit.
