About 118k on my '94 LS. I hope I can extrapolate that to mean it will be 236k in 2022

Damn, you haven't wasted time giving that old pup a workout once again It wasn't long ago she was doing the 800 mile weekend trips to connecticut.

Yea, it's getting up there. Don't do anything special - the spark plugs and wires haven't been changed in five years.:-) Mobil 1 10-30 full synthetic (green cap) in the engine. The big Mitsu oil filter from Carquest. BG MOA every oil change. I change oil every 8-9k. Clean the air filter about once a year. Amsoil synthetic in the trans and t-case. I was running redline in the diffs but I switched the front to Amsoil when I installed the new ARB diff cover last month and I'll do the back when the weather warms up. $9 a quart Amsoil vs. $20 a quart Redline. Mmmmm. Hard choice.:-)

87Montero:

That's what I was trying to figure out a couple days ago. The SAS was finished beginning of May 2001 and I think I had about 115K on my Sport when the conversion was done. Have to check but I know that's real close 'cause I'd just had my first timing belt replacment the year before and I was a bit overdue on that. So, most of the miliage is on the SAS.

Had to replace a rear shock that got hit with a log or something the year before last; one of the stupid Ford spring pads (cracked); I've changed out all the tie-rod ends twice and the track bar bushing four or five times. Oh, and three Heim joints - until I found out that the idiots at the speed shop I was buying from was selling me the cheap joints and charging me for the good ones. Grrr!!! Haven't broken one of those in a couple years now. And, I finally had to replace the original front axle u-joints last fall. Innumerable rear diff u-joints - 'cause I guess I still don't kwow where my rear diff is in relation to the GIANT ROCK I just drove over.:-( OH, and I switched to the Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads all the way around; they brake better and look like they'll last longer than the Napa rotors and pads I was using.

Only thing I've ever broken (keeping fingers crossed) 'wheeling was the Heim joint on my track bar and that was because there wasn't enough clearance around the Heim joint after the suspension was broke in. Fixed that with a Rotozip and a grider wheel several years ago. Figure if I didn't break it on Flat Pass Road June before last it's good.:-)

And, I'm on my third or fourth set of leaf springs - axle wrap from the spring-over, WAY overloaded vehicle, deeper t-case gears and the super sticky sandstone in Moab. The new set is completely redesigned with torque leafs and a different rate. Keeping fingers crossed with these as well.:-) Managed to bust both the left and right side primary leaves on Elephant Hill in November. Made for an interesting drive back to Denver.:-(

Anyway, can't imagine how much Mitsu replacement parts would have cost in that time if I would have stuck with the IFS.

Edward

1989 3.0 never rebuilt, pushing 210,000. Gonna need a new clutch and valve seals soon, and I'm wondering why my mileage has suddenly taken a nose-dive

Body Damage is Cool
88 2.6 117k 3rd owner. Bought it from my uncle and his real estate agent had it before him. May of been in 4wd 5 times before I got my hands on it. Put a new Mikuni on at about 90k when I purchased it. Also had a seized spark plug in the head. It came out with minium damage. Still running like a top.

She handles tbe trips like a champ. Ball joints are shot though so it makes for interesting times. MPG is also sh*t at 13.5 mpg with cruise set at 70 I assume the balljoints cant help and the fact the fill and vent hoses on the gas tank are shot. I am a little concerned with the mpg figures but I will get to that bridge when I get the Raider working again. Hate to drag this off track but this weekend is tear into time (woot!)

204k and counting. I just amended my profile to reflect this. I've only owned the Montero since Jan. 2003, it had about 152K on it then.
