Ok then I'll answer THAT question. The detroit ez locker is another lunchbox locker! It has a few more moving parts than the other well known lunchboxes. BUT it acts the same and none have proven to cause problems to the factory parts of the axle. For my own use I would prefer the POWERTRAX which I have had some experience with.
All that said I wouldn't ever use a front locker on the street unless I had wheel disconnecting lockouts! Then when using the front locker on the street I'd always unlock one wheel..
I would not ever be afraid of a lunchbox causing harm to my axle.
