Glad to see you got some of the basics Wrangirl. 2 30' straps might have been a little overboard, but it can't hurt. Now are those straps recovery straps or tow straps? Recovery straps don't have hooks, but loops on the ends, and have a higher breaking strength.

BJ is right about the jack. Get well aquainted with it before you ever have to use it on uneven terrain. Even on level ground it will want to lean to the left or right if you don't place it properly. And don't keep any part of your body between the jack and jack handle while using it.
