NO! That is a different noise.. I havn't took mine apart to look but I think it is a lectric connection in the steering that makes that groan sound.. The one we speak of is definatly a THUMP. At first most think it is something loose in the steering.. My son thought mine was a ball joint.. What it is is a looseness in the upper steering shaft that beats itself back and forth when the front wheels are slightly turned and on a roughness in the road the tires attempt to pull apart or pull together and the slack in the shaft closes or opens causing the thump.. It will in no way will ever hinder preformance of the Chevy... It is just worrysome. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
